This is a quality antique armor just finished in beautiful vermilion-red from Edo period (1600-1700s). Cuirass consists of Nimaido, 2 divided body guards constructed with the Iyozane iron plates painted in vermilion lacquer, and shoulders and tassels are finished with genuine beaten gold leaves. Kabuto helmet is composed of 64 separate iron plates, each with its own specific proportions. When joined, they result in the perfectly formed kabuto seen here. The helmet features brass headerboards. Registered as Kicho paper "Important historical armor" by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. The original storage box, display stand, and all pieces shown in the catalogue come with.
