The Jorvet Femoral Head Disarticulator is a specialized small animal orthopedic instrument designed to disarticulate the femoral head from the acetabulum. It engages and severs the round ligament during total head and neck excision, aiding procedures where manipulation of the femur is difficult. The curved blade slides between the femoral head and acetabulum, while the sharpened tip notch locates and cuts the ligament to enable elevation and removal of the femoral head. Ideal for canine and feline orthopedic surgery, this compact 14 cm (5.5 in) tool supports precise, controlled disarticulation.
