Active Ingredient: Fentanyl Citrate 500 micrograms (equivalent to fentanyl free-base) in 10 mL sterile solution
Formulation: Solution for intravenous or intramuscular injection (50 mcg/mL)
Pfizer Fentanyl Citrate 500 mcg/10 mL ampoules deliver fast-acting opioid analgesia for use in anaesthesia and the management of severe, acute pain unresponsive to non-opioid measures. Fentanyl is a potent μ-opioid receptor agonist with rapid onset and short duration, allowing precise titration in the peri-operative and critical-care setting.
Strength: 500 micrograms fentanyl citrate per 10 mL (50 mcg/mL)
Indications: Analgesic adjunct in general or regional anaesthesia; sole anaesthetic agent in selected patients; severe pain requiring potent opioid therapy
Onset & Duration: Intravenous onset within minutes; analgesic effect lasts 30–60 minutes after a single bolus (dose-dependent)
Dosing: Individualised. Typical bolus 25–100 mcg IV; may be repeated or given by continuous infusion as directed by specialist protocols
