Darkness is the sherry-obsessed independent label from Atom Brands, the UK team behind Master of Malt and That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Their trick is the octave: after eight years in traditional casks, this single malt is finished in tiny 50-liter Oloroso sherry octave casks, where the high ratio of wood to whisky delivers in months what a full-size sherry butt takes years to achieve.Bottled at 95.6 proof, Darkness 8 Year Old is unapologetically rich: raisin, fig, dark chocolate and walnut on the nose, then a deep, chewy palate of Christmas cake, treacle, dried cherry and warming clove spice, finishing long with lingering sherried oak. Presented in a distinctive black bottle, it is a sherry bomb at a friendly price for fans of Aberlour A'bunadh, GlenDronach and Macallan who want maximum darkness per dollar.Buy Darkness 8 Year Old Sherry Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky online with fast shipping right to your door.
