New Riff Bottled in Bond Rye Whiskey is the core rye from New Riff Distilling in Newport, Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati, and one of the most rigorously made ryes in the state. New Riff makes every whiskey by the full Kentucky sour-mash regimen, ages it in full-size 53-gallon toasted and charred new oak barrels, gives it an age statement and bottles it without chill filtration. This rye is bottled in bond at 100 proof after a minimum of four years. The mash bill is a new riff on tradition: 95% rye and 5% malted rye, with no barley at all, which keeps the whole flavor in the rye grain. Breaking Bourbon's notes describe charred oak, flamed orange peel and oats with a hint of smoke on the nose, a spicy and sweet palate of orange zest, black pepper and tobacco leaf, and a bold, peppery finish, calling it a solid, full-featured rye fairly priced for what it is. It has real backbone for a Sazerac or a Boulevardier and is a favorite with bartenders for that reason.Buy New Riff Bottled in Bond Rye Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
