A stunning antique armor on display at SAMURAI STORE TOKYO. A quality antique armor from the mid-Edo period (1700s). The cuirass consists of 2 divided iron plates, finished with very detailed Honkozane hand-spliced small iron pieces painted in gold lacquer and hair-spread dark blue silk braid lacings. The Kabuto helmet is composed of 32 separate hand-spliced iron plates in black and gold, each with its own specific proportions. When joined, they form the perfectly formed kabuto shown here. A certificate comes with this item. The Tokubetsu Kicho paper certificates granted by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor.
