An upgraded intake is strongly recommended for Stage 1. Improved inlet flow reduces restriction ahead of the turbochargers and increases available airflow, while also enhancing induction sound and throttle response.
While not required, an upgraded intercooler has the largest impact on real-world performance. The factory RS5 uses a water-to-air charge cooling system, which can quickly heat soak under sustained load.
