Proven Quality｜ Other Products ｜ACE TONE RHYTHM ACE FR-3 (boxed!)

This is a rare find - a boxed and near mint Ace Tone FR-3 dating from c1967. It is in exceptional condition - the only flaw we can determine is the leatherette inserts to the control knobs is lifting around the edges. Clearly, this beatbox has spent most of its life inside its remarkably-clean original box.
Ace Tone Rhythm Aces were the direct ancestors of the mighty Roland TR series of drum machines - this is virtually-identical to the Roland TR-55.
Sonically, it's a real treat - lovely warm analogue beats that have a pleasing 'woody' tone to them - and it's not marred by any noticeable age-related artefacts. It's a Japanese 100v unit, and there is a low audible hum from the transformer, but we've not found this a problem in use (see below for more information about voltage).
We currently have a couple more of these in less pristine condition - get in touch if interested.
Price includes VAT at 20% (for sales in UK/EU) - buyers outside the EU please contact us for tax-free prices. VAT-free sales possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number.
It is a 100v Japanese model and will run fine on North American mains 115/120v without a transformer (we run all our tests using 120v power); however, a step-down transformer is recommended for extended use.
A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.
We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.
